Bingo Machine
In February 2010, the Friends of Harewood purchased an electronic Bingo machine, it has a digital display and picks numbers at random. The machine is used at the O.A.P. Bingo afternoons run by
the school and has been used at the Family Fun Night.
Classroom and Library Furniture
The Friends of Harewood purchased a range of furniture, this included red chairs, tables and beanbags originally for the end of the year 6 corridor. It was intended that this purchase would create
a great area to relax, read a book or have a chat.
Disco Lights
The Friends of Harewood have purchased disco lights for the hall. These have improved the experience and are a permenant feature.
Easi-Listener 6 Built-in Headphone Socket CD Players
In October 2008, the Friends of Harewood purchased twelve Easi-Listener multi-port CD players for use during lessons. These Easi-Listener CD Players have six built-in headphone sockets which enable
six children at a time to listen to stories during guided reading sessions.
Easi-scope Microscopes
The Friends of Harewood donated funds towards the cost of 6 'easi-scopes'. These are microscopes, which link to the school laptops, they really enrich the children's learning in science. Rebecca
Wood, Science Subject Leader wrote a letter to the Friends of Harewood to say thank you for the donation.
Harewood School Football Kits
The Friends of Harewood purchased new football kits for the football team, they are in the colours of the school. The football team look very smart in them and when they get dirty after each game,
the kits are washed at school which saves the boy's parents a job.
Interactive White Board
In October 2008, the school with financial support from the Friends of Harewood purchased a huge interactive white board which has been installed in the hall. The screen is automatic which means
with a push of a button can be lowered or raised when required.
Marquee (10' x 30')
The Friends of Harewood purchased a 10' x30' marquee/party tent from an online company and it was first used at the 2010 summer fete. Unfortunately, on the third occasion (which was an event for year 6) the marquee was secerely damaged by strong winds.
Metal Teapots
In February 2010, the Friends of Harewood purchased two metal teapots at a cost of around £86. These were bought to be used at the many events the group organise throughout the year.
Notice Board
The Friends of Harewood have purchased a notice board capable of holding 10xA4 sheets of paper, the colour of the board is dark green which was chosen because of the green theme around the exterior
of the school.
Popcorn Maker
The Friends of Harewood have purchased a popcorn maker. Although the machine was expensive to purchase, it has been used on several occasions and has paid for itself already.
Portable PA System
The Behringer EuroPort EPA300 PA System was purchased in January 2012 and is a very useful piece of technology with digital effects. The high fidelity performance can project someones voice for incredible distance outdoors which makes it ideal for sports day, other events it can be used at include school discos, family quiz nights and fetes.
School Library Improvements
In order to make improvements to the library the FoH were asked to finance the purchase of a good quality colourful rug, donut seating (purpose made, high quality cushions which stack on
top of one another), a bookcase and a table. The cost of these items was approx. £500.
Tabletop Display Boards
In March 2011 the Friends of Harewood purchased two set of tabletop display boards on the request of Mrs Wood. One set has black boards with a grey frame and the other has red boards with a black frame, both sets came with a carry bag.
Team PE Kits
In late 2010 the Friends of Harewood purchased red t-shirts with HJS printed on the back which could be used by the various sports teams in the school, in March 2011 a purchase of black PE shorts was made to complete the kit.
Upper and lower School Trim Trails
The Friends of Harewood have purchased two trim trails for the school. One for the upper school and the other (more recently) for the lower school.
Wooden Stocks
Peter Norridge kindly built the stocks for free and the only expense was the cost of materials. The stocks cost £33 to build but paid for itself, raising over £82 at its first use at the summer
fete 2007. They have been used at every summer fete since.
