Friends of Harewood Website

The original website was created in April 2008 to raise the profile of the Friends of Harewood and to encourage parents, teachers and anyone else with an interest in Harewood Junior School to get involved or offer more support. This website was launched in November 2010 and is a great way of finding out information for forthcoming events, latest news, 

achievements and ongoing fundraising campaigns.

Logo Design

A competition to design a logo for the Friends of Harewood was held in the early part of 

2006. Many designs were submitted and the 'Friends' finally choose a design by 

Sophie Lewis (who was in Year 4 at the time). In May 2010 the logo was redesigned by 

Simon Day using the idea of the school motto 'the school that smiles'.

Printed T-shirts

The Friends of Harewood purchased ten t-shirts in March 2011 with the logo printed on the front. These t-shirts are used to promote the group at events at school. Members of the 'Friends' group also wear lanyards with the logo which are used to identify them to members
of staff whilst helping out during school time.

Whole School Exhibitions

The Friends of Harewood are involved with the whole school exhibition, the 'Friends' serve refreshments and display the social events and fundraising activities they have achieved.

Year 2 Parents Induction Morning

Harewood Junior School holds an open morning for Year 2 parents every year. Members of the Friends of Harewood attend these events to serve refreshments, welcome the parents and chat to them about the benefits and achievements of the 'Friends' group.
